Well folks i finally have lanched this formally with a good Muhurta (auspicios astorlogical time) yesterday, we should be OK.
This is copied from the first Introductions thread.
"I chose the name Hamsa for this thread as it is simply an invocation of the universal principles which underpin the oneness we are all seeking to harmonize with us.
yet Hamsa is not only devotional, it is Scientific. Hamsa is the sound of the breath. Like all truth - meditation on the sound Ham-sa works in belief and practice but it must be practiced. Ham (inhale) Sa (exhale) It is also the Sanskrit word for a swan. It is the swan which glides atop the waters of maya, gracefully involved yet detached. This mantra not only opens the heart, it calms the mind and ultimately and reveals our truth beyond the false duality of both.
That oneness and respect for all is what i want this tribe to be about in Spirit. I want people to share their beliefs and passions about their path, their techniques and insights. All are welcome. Whether it is Tantra, Bhakti, Astrology, Kabbalah, Tai Chi, feel free to represent.
Let's find what each path has in common through the differences, that is God's challenge to us - to love even though what is being said seems different to what we think - to stretch our minds beyond the little boxes we are in,, Let's GO!! "

Re: Introductions 2
Tue, September 13, 2005 - 10:54 AMHi! I used to hang out with a delightful bunch of vedantin/khasmir shaivite yogis; read many of the classics from India, studied ayurveda/pancha karma/hatha yoga, chanted bajans and text chants, and did a little guruseva. Now I hang out with the mahayana (Tibetan) buddhists (better match). I don't know much, but like to learn and help out if/when I can.
